BURNOUT COACHING

What is burnout coaching?

Burnout coaching helps you work out what has been draining you, what of it was never yours to carry, and how to rebuild something that does not require running at full output permanently. It is practical rather than motivational, and it starts by reducing load rather than improving your handling of it.

Part of our life and mindset practice

Before anything else

Burnout and clinical depression can look similar from the inside and they need different help.

If you are struggling to function day to day, if things you used to enjoy have gone flat for months, or if you are having thoughts of harming yourself, please speak to a doctor or a mental health professional. That is not us, and coaching is not a substitute for it.
We take this seriously enough to turn people away. If what you describe in the intake or the first session sounds clinical, we will tell you and point you toward proper support rather than take your money and coach around it.

If you are in crisis in the US, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, available 24 hours a day.

Push harder is the exact wrong instruction

Almost every piece of advice aimed at people in this state assumes a motivation problem. Get organised. Prioritise better. Find your why.

That advice is not merely unhelpful here, it makes things worse, because it adds a task to someone who is already at capacity and then implies the exhaustion is a discipline failing.

Burnout is not usually caused by working hard. Plenty of people work extremely hard for years without arriving here. It comes from sustained effort poured into things that do not resolve, often things that were never within your power to resolve, with no mechanism for putting any of it down.

That is why the first move is subtraction rather than optimisation. Someone running at capacity does not need a better system for handling the load. They need less load, and then a way of keeping it lower once things improve.

Who this is for

You are still functioning and it costs everything you have.

Work gets done. There is nothing left afterwards, and there has not been for a while.

You have stopped caring about things you used to care about.

Not dramatically. It just got quiet.

You are carrying things that are not yours.

Other people’s stress, other people’s problems, other people’s disorganisation, absorbed automatically and never handed back.

Rest does not restore you.

You took the holiday. You returned in the same state within a week, which is the clearest sign that the issue is structural rather than a sleep deficit.

Every fix has been a fix to yourself.

Better systems, earlier mornings, more discipline. None of it touched the load.

You cannot see where the exit is.

The situation seems fixed, which is usually less true than it feels but genuinely true in parts.

How the sessions work

Before anything else, we find something that can come off the pile this week. Momentum here begins with relief, not with a new commitment.

Often the largest drains are things nobody asked you to take on and nobody would notice you stopping.

This is the centre of the work. Some of what exhausts you is genuinely yours and has to be dealt with. Much of it is not yours, and has been carried out of habit, decency, or the absence of anyone else picking it up. Those need different responses and most people treat them identically.

Sometimes the honest answer is that the role, the arrangement, or the expectations have to change, and no amount of personal resilience substitutes. We will say that when it is true.

Not a return to your previous output, which is what produced this. A version that works at a level you can hold indefinitely.

How the Method applies

Clarity.

What is actually draining you, listed specifically. Most people arrive with a general sense of too much and have never itemised it.

Ownership.

The phase that matters most here. What is genuinely yours to carry, what is not, and what has been silently transferred to you over months or years.

Direction.

What a sustainable version looks like, with the cost named. Recovery usually costs something: disappointing people, doing less, or changing something structural.

Momentum.

Rebuilding at a size you can hold on a bad week, with tracking, so the load does not quietly creep back to where it was.

What we do not do

We do not treat clinical conditions.

Covered above and worth repeating.

We do not teach resilience as the answer.

Resilience training aimed at someone with an unsustainable load is asking them to tolerate the thing that is harming them.

We do not assume your job is the problem.

Sometimes it is. Sometimes it is a relationship, a caring responsibility, or a standard you hold yourself to that nobody else imposed.

We do not rush you into a decision.

People burnt out often want to quit something immediately. That may be right, and it is better made from a clear picture than from exhaustion.

Ways to work together

Clarity Session

$350

One session, an honest picture of what is draining you, and a roadmap. Credited toward any program within 30 days.

30-Day Intensive

$1,300

Four weekly sessions. Enough to reduce load and build the plan.

90-Day Program

$2,500

Recommended for this work. Recovery is not fast and the risk is that the load creeps back once you feel slightly better. Ninety days covers that stretch.

Questions

No, though they share symptoms and can occur together. Burnout is generally tied to sustained demand, usually work or caring responsibilities. Depression is a clinical condition requiring clinical care. If there is any doubt, see a doctor first.

Not necessarily, and we will not push you toward it. Many people recover within the same role once the load and the boundaries change. Sometimes the honest answer is that something structural has to give, and we will say so.

Longer than most people hope. Months rather than weeks for anything sustained. Early relief can come quickly once something comes off the pile.

Understood, and it is worth noticing that this reasoning is the pattern itself. One hour a fortnight is usually findable, and the first thing we do is reduce load rather than add to it.

No. We work with you. Where a conversation with your employer is needed, we will help you prepare for it.

Then the pattern matters more than this episode, and that is what we would work on. Repeated burnout usually points at something structural rather than at bad luck.
