Founder and Method Lead

Who is Jerry Perez?
Jerry Perez is the founder of Positive Realist and the driving force behind the Positive Realist Method, the four-phase framework every coach here works from. He leads the life and mindset practice, trains the coaching team, and takes a small number of clients each year.
Background
Jerry Perez founded Positive Realist. He is a certified Life and Leadership Coach with fifteen years in practice, working primarily with professionals, entrepreneurs, and executives.
His own path to this work was not a straight line, and that turns out to matter. He has moved through corporate roles, left them to work for himself, gone back, run small businesses, and taken on passion projects along the way. Many industries, several complete changes of direction, and a fair amount of starting over.
At the time that looked like restlessness. In hindsight it was a long process of working out what he actually wanted and what he was for, conducted the slow way. Each change forced a harder look inward than the one before it.
Somewhere in that stretch he sought out coaching himself, and it changed how he saw his own situation in a way nothing else had. Not by making him more positive about it. By helping him describe it accurately and act on the part that was his. Having been on the receiving end of work that good, he wanted to do it for other people.
That experience shaped what he built. What he kept noticing with his own clients was not a shortage of ability or drive. It was people making decisions from a picture of their situation that was subtly wrong, usually bent toward whatever they most feared. The most useful thing he did in a first session was rarely advice. It was describing the situation back to someone accurately, separating what had happened from what they had concluded about it.
So he formalised the sequence: understand the situation, work out what is actually yours, choose a direction and name what it costs, then build something you can sustain. Four phases, in that order, with something written at every stage. Developed with our practice leads and documented so it could be taught, held to a standard, and delivered consistently by people other than him.
How he works
Jerry is direct and unhurried, which is an unusual combination. He does not rush to reassurance, and he does not let a comfortable story stand unexamined.
He is explicit that this is practical mindset work rather than motivation or therapy. He is not there to lift your mood, and he is not equipped to treat a clinical issue. He works on how you are reading your situation and what you do next, which for the people he tends to see is the thing actually determining outcomes.
His view is that most coaching goes wrong by starting at the wrong end. Advice arrives before the problem has been properly described, and a plan gets built on a situation nobody examined. The Method exists to prevent that, and Jerry holds to it strictly in his own work.
He is deliberately not a public-facing personality. The brand is built on the framework rather than on any individual, and that reflects how he thinks the work should run.
